It is designed, engineered, and constructed with the optimal material to achieve the hardness and strength necessary to withstand the high pressure forces during high-pressure electric cooking. Instant Pot® sealing rings have passed UL, FDA, and LFGB testing for safety, including food safety. To ensure that your Instant Pot multicooker continues to perform as intended, only authentic Instant Pot® sealing rings are used with your Instant Pot multicooker. It is recommended that you replace your Instant Pot sealing ring every 12-18 months. However, the sealing ring is porous and can absorb odors and become discolored. To prevent discoloration and odors, you may want to replace the sealing ring every 6-12 months.
